Everything You Need to Know Before You Start

Ride the beauty - Skip the climb

Embark on a 15km downhill ride through some of the most stunning landscapes in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Designed to be easy and enjoyable for riders of all levels, this tour offers minimal physical effort, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced cyclists.

This self-guided adventure lets you explore the beautiful surroundings at your own pace.Whether you prefer to ride solo or join others along the way, the choice is yours.

And don’t worry about getting back—your return transport to Santa Elena is included in the price, ensuring a hassle-free experience from start to finish.

Chase the Sunset

This route is packed with breathtaking views of mountains, valleys, the stunning Nicoya Gulf, and the vast plains and hills of Guanacaste. The tour typically lasts about 2 hours, so if you want to catch the sunset, we recommend starting by 3 PM at the latest.

However, bikes will be available starting from 2 PM, giving you plenty of time to explore at your own pace.

Remember, there are no groups or guides, so you’ll need to manage your time well.

The return transport departs at 6:30 PM. However, since the entire route takes place on the same main road, if you don’t make it to the final stop on time, don’t worry—we’ll catch up with you along the way.

What to bring

The weather can change during the ride due to the elevation differences, so we recommend bringing a light jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable, preferably athletic, clothing.

Additionally, we suggest carrying a small backpack to store your belongings safely and make the ride more comfortable.

The bikes have a small bottle holder, and along the way, you’ll pass by two supermarkets where you can stock up on snacks. Plus, the final stop of the tour is a beautiful, typical restaurant where you can enjoy delicious, affordable meals.
